Listening steps consists 5 steps.
Step1: receiving, hearing
In this step, you will focus on speaker verbal& non-verbal.
You no need to think about response.
Step 2: understanding
In this step, you need to relate new information to what you already know.
You also need to ask some question to confirm your understanding.
Step 3: remembering
In this step, you are require to takes down the main point .
You also need to look at the non-verbal language of the speaker.
Step4: evaluating
This step need to be done until you are fully understand the speaker view.
You are not encourage to evaluate when you are emotional.
Step 5: responding
This is the important step in listening process.
You need to express support by giving verbal and non-verbal language.
You also need to give some feedback to the speaker.
Through this step, you can be a good listener.
Do not give any response when you are in step 1 to 4.
Give your only in step 5.
You can also avoid conflict between you and your friend.

Men & women have different communicate ways
Men & women communicate differently.
Men like to lecture other, while women like to talk but not lecture.
Men are also like to seek for facts when they are communicate,
But women like to build relationship when they are communicating with other people.
In addition, men are desire respect from other, while women are wanted to be like by others.
Men interrupt more often compare to women because women are more patient then men when they are communicating with others.
On the other hand, men like to change their topic more often compare to women, while women are more sensitive to emotion.
This is why there is difference between women & men when they are communicate.
This sometimes will cause conflict between men and women.
Men like to lecture other, while women like to talk but not lecture.

Finally
After 2 "wild" weeks, I'm finally settling in. My first 2 weeks of college didn't really go my way. I've been asked to sit in classes before my proper schedule was set. So, yes, I've been sitting in classes and I got my proper timetable last week, mmhmm, finally. The good thing is that I'm pretty comfortable with my timetable but the bad is that i got separated with my two good friends. Well, guess we really can't get the best of both worlds huh? :)
Okay, that's not the point.
It was the Raya holidays last week and I spent 5 days of holiday in Bangkok.
And omg, it was shopping paradise. I went bonkers when I saw the amount of shopping places. I went there with a luggage and came back with three :)
I had so much fun, period.
Then, I learnt that different culture has different communication styles.
They use a lot of non-verbal elements and they tend to beat around the bush alot. They're not as direct as some of us. They are truly sensitive to conflict and it is really improper to disagree with someone in front of them in their culture. It's funny how I don't get them sometimes as they speak really quickly.
Yes, some of them do speak english but it's hard to understand them at times as the accent and the way they pronouce certain words is different.
For instance,
You no chai
No chai? what? sorry.
Chai, chai *showing gestures*
Oh, Try!
I was told to try the pants just in case I couldn't fit in it.
Yeaph, they also speak in a really loud tone, which in my culture is improper. The way they dress is almost the same as we, Malaysians as we have almost the same weather. However, cross dressing is really popular there. There were guys with make up, Guys dressed in mini skirts etc. It was so normal there.
Well, I guess that's all about the communication styles I experienced when I was there.

all of us have 4 self..
-open self
-blind self
-unknow self
-hidden self
all of us can see our open self clearly...
i am a girl,
i am a chinese...
this open self of us can been seen clearly by only looking at our apperance.
our friend can our blind self easily,
but when we want to see our blind self,
this may have some difficulties for ourself...
all of us also have also unknow self
unknow self is something that maybe youself know but others do not know,
another situation is other know but yourself don't know...
this is like you have secret that you don't want let people know..
lastly,
all of us must have hidden self...
like hidden talent...
this hidden talent might need times to be cultivate
eg:creative talent, singing talent...

The Importance of Self Esteem
Self-esteem is the what you feel about yourself and most of the time we are more concerned about our strenght and weakness.
Self esteem is crucial and is a cornerstone of a positive attitude towards living.
It is very important because it affects how you think, act and even how you relate to other people. It affects your potential to be successful. Low self esteem means poor confidence and that also causes negative thoughts which means that you are likely to give up easily rather than face challenges.
In addition, it has a direct bearing on your happiness and wellbeing... So i have learnt to have a positive self esteem towards myself because it has a bearing on my happiness in life.........Thank you !
Self-concept and Self-awareness.
In chapter two, We were taught about "SELF AND PERCEPTION".
I will like to share my own view of "Self-concept and Self-awareness".
To me, self-concept is what you see about yourself while self-awareness is
what you know about yourself and the kind of image you think you are.
Most of the times we look into our weaknesses/strengths.

have you ever been talk to yourself??
i think that all of you have been talk to yourself before...
all of you maybe will think that talk to yourself like a fool...
but do you all know,
by talking to yourself & asking yourself some self-awareness question,
you can let yourself know more about yourself...
eg:what is your plan in your future plan in 5years or 10 years time????
you can also ask yourself about what have you done in today
& do you done it wrongly or correctly??
is anythings that you need to improve or not...
when you talk to yourself,
you will know more about yourself ...
in this this universe,
do not have people can know you better then yourself...
after i communication with my friend in a day,
I will ask myself whether that i have done something wrongly or not...
like said out something that may hurt my friends that maybe i don't know...
sometimes i am a person that will say something very straightly..
this sometimes can hurt people that i communicate with..
but i will change this atitude ,
so that i can maintain a good relationship with my friend...

Intrapersonal communication
From chapter 1, I just realize that Intrapersonal communication can give ourself many benefit. What is Intrapersonal communication? It is the communication you have with yourself.
Through this type of communication, we can learn more about ourself and jugde ourself. The important to do is to change our shortcoming in a short period after judgement and make ourself to a better destination.
Besides that, with this communication, we can learn to persuade ourself to a specific things,reasoning better and make a better dicision.
However, somebody may misunderstand the terms of 'Intrapersonal communication',somebody may relate it to the mentally problem.
Thus, we should manage our Intrapersonal communication perfectly to avoid others misunderstand.
Through this type of communication, we can learn more about ourself and jugde ourself. The important to do is to change our shortcoming in a short period after judgement and make ourself to a better destination.

Now, i would like to discuss 'what are the points to us to present well?'
1.Interaction between non-verbal and verbal communication
i believe that the interaction between non-verbal and verbal communication are important to give a go0d presentation.When someone presenting with a go0d verbal communication without non-verbal communication, i believe that his/her audiences will be felt boring during the presentation and difficult to play attention to the presentation.

When there are interaction between presenter and audiances, the environment will be more 'cheerful'.
3.Presenting briefly
For example,When we present briefly,the audiance can easily play more attention to our presentation and easily understand the information we give out.
4. Brave and adequate preparation
With brave, i believe that all of us will presents beter without afraid to the audiances especially to whom never face to so many audiences during his/her past time. Last but not least, has adequate preparation is very very important before present. This not only can prepare us to present well, but also can manage the time of the presentation .
